This site is all about pedal opinions : no one here would answer a question or mention anything good about a pedal that do not own, but anyway :

Fuzz Central is all I needed. All the classic schematics are available. I built a set for myself and never looked back. Built the Foxx Tone machine with the best octave split ever, (I had one back in 1973), a Meyer Octavia, the Fuzz Face, The Colorsound 3 knob germanium and a two knob 'Jimmy Page' model. Someone built me a BYOC Tube Screamer, but I hate that sound and never use it. My most used is my custom jobby with a 3 way switch, silicon, germanium and asymetrical germanium diode clippers.

All are built into $7 colored Bud boxes, they look like candy on the floor.

Nearly all of the 'botique' fuzzers sound too grainy and spitty for me, plus I can't deal with their noise floor. I built all of mine for less than the cost of one of those.

While it's not strictly "Pedal", there is quite a bit of pedal talk and a "For Sale" thread in the EA Forum's Tech Room -
