It kind of is a joke....

Isn't it a plugin residing in a hardware box?

Apparently so long as you can fool some of the people some of the time, you can make a lot of money!
get a hammered sound from guitar or bass! http://www.stringhammer.com
hand-made version to raise money for manufacturing... kind of like kickstarter, but you get a fully functional item now

Latency (in Samples)
Digital-to-Digital
4 @ 44.1, 48K sampling rates
5 @ 88.2, 96K sampling rates
Analog-to-Analog
95 @ 44.1, 48K sampling rates
58 @ 88.2, 96K sampling rates
I feel like the latency of the original was a little better.

If I'm buying a modeled Fairchild copy without tubes, I'm spending less on the latency free analog modeled Anamod unit, that BTW costs about a grand less.

The original, computer-based plug-ins were definitely _warmer_...
