Audio Technica Pro37r Humming

Post by casey campbell » Wed Nov 27, 2013 9:39 am

my beloved pro37 is humming like mad. anyone have any experience with this and what did you do?

i havent opened it up as of yet, but i have a ton of experience in electronics. rather than trace it out, im lazy and want a quick answer. might be the 22uf caps?

thanks -

Does it hum with different cables and/or preamps?

Most likely problem is shielding/grounding. Tighten everything you can access, and/or loosen/tighten a few times to scrape off any oxides.

im going to take it apart and clean everything. you are probably right. i had a 3035 (which is totally different in make), but it did something similar, and it was a grounding issue. i didn't think of it that way with the pro37, but im going to take a looksie.

thanks for the reply.
