Thought of this, but I like yours better. 3 strings is venturing into jazz territory.

Putting together a guitar from a kit doesn't count as "building" a guitar, IMO. What they're doing is still cool, though. I've done a bit of building guitars with kids too...

Heh, yeah... I'm well aware. There's just no way to do it without there being one that's off, unless I split the fret or maybe it could go in diagonally. Just makes it dorian mode near the open strings then natural minor further up. I don't think there's any other interval in the Western system that would make the least difference in changing it than the 6th.ashcat_lt wrote:the C# at the first fret will be out of key.
If you really wanted to be "that guy" you would have noticed that I fucked up in the second octave and put in a minor second. Once I realized that, I could have a) taken it out, filled it in and put in the major second; b) added the major second and left the minor one in; or c) left it as-is, figuring that if she ever notices it and it bothers her it just means she's ready for a real guitar. I went with c.
