Behringer DSP8024 vs. analog audio signal generator question

Post by jaredrush » Thu Dec 05, 2013 12:13 pm

I have a recording console that does have an oscillator in the master section, however it only gives me 12K. 700, and 50 hertz options.. I'm tracking to two inch tape and want to provide tones on the front of my tapes that go out.. I know that i need to record 15k, 10k, 1k, and 100hz and possibly a sweep of the low frequencies.. my question is: i know this behringer 8024 eq that i only use as a RTA has a sinewave generator in it.. would i better to buy a cheap hand-held analog meter or would this internal sinewave generator be good enough to provide the tones? i know when it comes to sine waves that analog is best, but how good (accurate) is the sinewave generator in these behringer DSP8024 units?

advice?

thanks
