WAV files won't open or copy
I've been using Reaper for years to record my band's practices on 8 tracks with an M-Audio Ultra 8-R on a PC. I have been saving them to an external drive, but lately some of those files will not open and will not copy when I try to move them to the internal HD. The Ultra 8-R is pretty old, has it seen it's days or perhaps my external drive? (FreeAgent GoFlex) Or something else entirely? I'm using Windows 7 on a refurbished lenovo I got in October.
Record it before you forget it. You can always record it better later.

Re: WAV files won't open or copy
that sounds more like a drive problem. I'd start by checking the drive.hugheju wrote:...lately some of those files will not open and will not copy when I try to move them to the internal HD.
drop out to a command prompt and run:
chkdsk /f e: (or f: or g: or whatever the external drive is).
then do the same thing to the c drive (it will tell you its locked and ask if you want to do it on the next reboot - say yes, then reboot).
if that does not fix it, then it could be the external drive is developing some bad spots and you may need to run other or different checks...
