U47? Looked like it. That Beck track was a little underwhelming chord-wise...

Beautiful song.
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

It's pretty cool to see someone on SNL with a chamber orchestra.
I wish there wasn't such a spitty reverb on his voice so we could have really heard that mic. I wonder if the song works better in context of the record.

DPA 4099's on the strings!
Agree about the overly-heavy reverb. I think it would have sounded better without it.

Is the audio from SNL performances on TV even actually from the performance seen? I thought this stuff was mostly pre-recorded.

I really don't have the foggiest clue. I'm just commenting on what I heard. It did seem like he was singing and that the mic was reacting to proximity.

It seemed like the vocal was live to me. Not like when I made everyone at the Super Bowl party sad by explaining that the person was lip-syncing.

Nice song, but what's with that hat? Makes him look like a child.

I thought the RHCP performance famously had live vocals only, and prerecorded instruments (no guitars plugged in?)...

The new Beck album is pretty incredible to me, the orchestral song on the cd is drentched in reverb but in a good way, its warm, atmospheric, etc. The verb on SNL was kinda harsh and cold so it wasn't as nice as the cd is.

I feel like a dick for saying this, but probably hair loss.
