Foghat - Recording Info?

Post by akg414 » Tue May 06, 2014 10:22 am

Was listening to Slow Ride and I can swear that the open guitar part is done on a Fender Champ? Or maybe some other small Fender.

Anyone have any info on the recording process - instruments, amps, gear, etc?

I've tried to put that one out of my mind, Brad.

But, you might peruse the archive of Producer/Engineer Magazine (now available on-line) to see if there's any info there...

It's important that you be in the mood, and that the rhythm is right.

Incomplete, but they have a bunch up and are working on it; looks like they have some other cool publications too:

We have a winner!

When I used to record sound-a-likes for a living, we did that song. I don't remember much of what we did to emulate the record, but I do remember it being a lot of fun. That entire bass part is surprisingly cool.
