Stereo editor for Windows 8

Post by junkyardtodd » Sat Jun 28, 2014 4:45 am

I'm a home recorder and I'd been using Wavelab Essentials and Cakewalk Pyro on my old XP machine for cheap mastering and CD burning. Just upgraded to a Windows 8 machine and can't seem to find a compatible replacement. Just need something simple that supports VST plugins for under $100. Any suggestions?

Apparently Sound Forge Audio Studio will run on 8. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/aud ... o/techspec

You could also use Audacity to create the Audio and something free like iTunes to burn the CD. http://manual.audacityteam.org/o/man/bu ... _a_cd.html

I'll second the Sound Forge recommendation - I use a different (and older) version but the feature set of the Audio Studio version seems to support what you're looking to do.

I use Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 on Windows 7. Got a legit copy on ebay for $19 a couple years ago.
