What should I do with this busted a** microphone

Post by pandemic » Wed Aug 06, 2014 7:25 am

I have an old MXL 2001P that I had not used in forever (and loaned to my little bro who is destructive to anything gear..) well it came back to me and I plugged it in for the first time last night and it is making a very audible and low pitched rumble. Changed cables and it was the same....swapped mics it was gone sooooo the mic is busted. What should I do with it? Any easy fix's for this kind of symptom? Anything I should look for?? The mic did come back with a dented windscreen so I assume my brother dropped and/or threw it across the room at some point. Anything I can stuff inside it that would be cool?? I was thinking royer mod but funds are tight (read non-existent) due to a certain 2004 Ford Taurus.

Thoughts.....
Suggestions.....(don't say "shove it up your a**"....Waaaay ahead of you!)

Thanks..
Good Luck At Any Cost

Sell it on eBay as "Perfect Condition."

j/k

edit: Wait a minute?! You've already shoved it up your @ss? Then you've got to say "Great Condish. Slightly Used." Sorry.

maybe M. Joly will mod it? Not only will it work then, it will finally sound decent. http://www.oktavamod.com/
