so I think I'm becoming a Kush fanboy

For a while now I've realized that my mixes tend to come out qute dark. A less polite person might say muffled. Recently aquired the Kush Clariphonic plug, I'm loving the ability to brighten up my mixes or make the mids pop with seemingly no added harshness or tinniness. Gonna start saving for a hardware version. I'm pretty imressed by the tonal control it gives me over tracks and mixes, with seemingly no downsides.

So now i'm trialing the Kush Pusher which is a distortion/limiter combo, but unlike anything I've used before. Hard to describe, it's distortion that somewhat functions as
a transient designer too, i'm sold. Payday i'm buying it.

I sound like a schill now. Oh well.

Maybe instead of throwing money at the problem, you can identify and correct it by changing your recording and mixing methods?

Cheers

Don't miss out on the UBK plugin. That can do some ridiculous compression tricks. It can be subtle, too, but plenty of compressors can do subtle. I really like UBK when I want to smash something into oblivion.

Yeah, you should if you can, and watch his videos on how to use it. It's not immediately obvious. The videos helped me out.
