Tascam 32 motor power loss - grinding to halt

I just tried to fire up the tape machine after a couple of months dormant and the capstan drive is slipping (belt/clutch?) when pinch roller pushes on it so I can hear it hissing inside on playback. It makes rec/play grind to a halt over first few seconds. Is there a fix or do I need a new drive belt of some kind that's got more grip?

Update; just got inside and got to belt - looks fine and has bit of stickiness to rubber on contact side so surprised it's not gripping?
