I often wished for just such a thing. Especially when I had separate control and live rooms. I never had an assistant, and HELL YES clients get nervous when you're doing your job. Your job is technical and alien to them, and exists to expose all their flaws and confirm their already rampant insecurities. There are exceptions of course, but a good engineer is as much therapist as anything else.

Word. And I'm thinking more about the snare top mic, where it's super important to get the right placement, super tricky, and super crowded. Motorizing a mic stand is a great idea. This particular iteration doesn't seem to address the snare top mic problem. I feel I would want the ability to change the angle of the mic clip itself, plus extend and retract the boom, and raise and lower the boom. The x/y axis thing seems a little lazy, actually.trodden wrote: Getting a couple mic's on one speaker can be tight as it is.
So maybe version 2.0 will be something I'll get excited about.
