Craigslist score!!

Post by mjt335 » Wed Jan 13, 2016 6:58 pm

Well, I think I just used up my good luck for a while.

I browse my local Craigslist fairly regularly, although I rarely buy anything... but I saw an SM57 yesterday for $40 and I decided to buy it (assuming it wasn't a fake). So I emailed the seller and they said they had a couple other microphones, a low-profile boom stand and 25' XLR cable and they would cut me a deal if I bought the whole package. Of course that piqued my interest...

Fast forward to today, and I'm the proud new owner of a new SM57, a Sennheiser e935 and a freakin' Sennheiser MD 421ii!!! Plus the stand and cable. Everything is practically mint and the grand total...(drumroll)... $300 cash!!!

I probably won't win the Power Ball tonight, but I feel like I did alright. Anyway, I'm happy about it and wanted to share. Can't wait to plug them all in. I'm gonna take the 935 out for my vocal on a couple gigs in the mountains this weekend. Might take the 421 for one of our horn players too.

Haha. Not that kind of mountain gig... a little 300 cap theater in Durango that we sell out almost every time and the legendary Fly Me To The Moon Saloon in Telluride. Gonna be a good weekend in SW Colorado!!

Awesome. A band I was in played the Fly Me To the Moon Saloon when we were on tour in the mid-90s. Great town, great club, great vibe, at least it was 20 years ago. :-)
