juno 60 output weirdness
so the juno has 2 output jacks - a mono and a stereo (really just the other mono output).
WHen I plug into both outputs ONLY the stereo jack outputs a signal - if i unplug that cable from the output jack, sound mysteriously appears
out of the mono output.
I know i've used both before so this is a new problem. I had thought it was a cable problem but i swapped them all out and it's no different.
What the ?

Re: juno 60 output weirdness
I would take a look at the jacks themselves, maybe the switching function is worn out...or just needs cleaned/resoldered.
I used to have a Juno, didn't really find the "stereo" output useful since it's not really a stereo synth anyway.

Sounds like a bad solder joint between the jacks.
If you are good at soldering, you could most likely find the issue and solve it.
Cheers

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.
Re: juno 60 output weirdness
Most stereo chorus has a mono in, maybe just get a Y-cable if you want an easy fix without tearing the thing apart.

Re: juno 60 output weirdness
figured out today that it's actually a very dirty volume pot in the juno affecting the outputs.
can this be cleaned out or does it need to be replaced? Any one know any good spots online to buy vintage synth parts?

Re: juno 60 output weirdness
Tuner cleaner, readily available from Radioshack (if you can still find one) sprayed into an orifice (on the pot) or drizzled down the shaft and worked back and forth a few times.
If it works, great, if it doesn't, time to replace.

Get some Caig Fader Lube for the pots and some Caig Deoxit for the switches and jacks. The stuff is expensive but nothing else works like it. Might take a couple of treatments before its all sorted.
