Follow the Golden Rule and send it back if possible. But if they're unresponsive, and if you are fine with having the other mic, then you've done all you can do.

I've tried to bond with the 441 but never could. I think they're pretty overrated myself. They need a shitload of gain. I track to tape. I've always been able to find a better option. A fantastic live mic though.

I recently bought a MXL V63M for $30 on eBay. My intent was to use it for practicing my soldering of component upgrades. To my surprise, I discovered it was an already modded version, and not only that, a fantastic sounding mic! Wish I knew who did the mod because it's unbelievable how good this mic sounds.
