Tascam 22-2

Post by randrohe » Thu Dec 28, 2017 7:29 pm

Hello all,
I have this 1/4" deck which has been in storage.
I fired it up recently and realized that the NON take up side (left) has a slightly bent spindle..DAMN YOU STORAGE!!!
I noticed this because the tape, when played, slows down to a stop, so, I'm figuring extra resistance from the misalignment.
I don't have much experience with reel players, nor maybe will I ever!
Major bummer as it was fine went it was put aside for remodeling.
I live in the middle of PA close to no one, and would like it repaired / reconditioned.
I know it's not a super high end deck, but would like to have it fixed if possible.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Hope the holidays treated everyone well!

thanks
Randy

Searching around, I see on you tube the idea of using a spare take up reel, putting it on the spindle, and trying to gently bend it back.. I'm going use that as a last resort though. Would like to have it attended to professionally, and have it serviced at the same time..
