Favorite Metering Plugins
I've been thinking about picking up another metering plug and I'm curious if y'all have a favorite/go to. My main two are VUMT and bx_meter. I also have some freebies, but I'm drawing a blank on their names.
Besides it being a worthy meter, I like it's GUI and digital meters. There's something about VU meters on a computer screen that doesn't sit well with me. And no, it has nothing to do with being a whinny bitch.."in my day we had tape, ya little bastards"
I want to make sure I have the necessary tools to make all the proper measurements.
Thanks.

Roger Nichols Inspector is still my favourite.

Been using Waves' Loudness meter, PAZ analyzer, and Dorrough.
They do a good job.

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

VUMT deluxe and the stock wavelab meters here.
i have almost a whole monitor devoted solely to the VUMT. love it. i don't actually pay much attention to it (or any meters) much at all, but it's pretty and it makes me happy.

Re: Favorite Metering Plugins
How many metering plugins does a recording engineer need?
Not being smarmy here, I have levels on my hardware going in, levels on my AD/DA, levels on my software. From there I could see one laser-focused, purpose-intensive tool to help me visualize something I didn't get along the way (probably something with some more frequency specific intel).
But perhaps here is where y'all school me and I learn a new strategy.

I totally agree. I'm also trying to figure out if the bx_meter lacks any important measurements that would be helpful.MoreSpaceEcho wrote: ↑Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:19 amno you're doing it right!
