This is what looked like after about 9 years in service. I had asked a couple of AC people what I need to do, but nobody seemed to know how to really take care of these units (they are not all that common in Texas). Finally after taking a peek myself and seeing algae and black mold, I figured it was time to get down and dirty. Unfortunately, even after many YouTube videos I was never able to get the blower fan out, but I did get it cleaned, and I used some bleach spray all around. it's 1000% better than it was, but not perfect -- which means I'll have to keep at it.

Oh man, I shudder to think what the one at my old studio looked like inside. It's not even something I ever thought about.
