Linux SysEx Dumps

Post by Drone » Sat Mar 23, 2019 1:04 pm

What's the easiest way to receive a SysEx dump in Linux?

Is there some command line tool you can receive a dump from you patchboard, and then retransmit it back to it later?
The previous statement is from a guy who records his own, and other projects for fun. No money is made.

>cat /dev/midi > afile.syx
>echo afile.syx > /dev/midi

(I'm kinda being facetious...no idea if that would actually work.)

amidi sounds like what you're looking for.
