Beyerdynamic D71C thoughts?

Post by permanent hearing damage » Mon Apr 08, 2019 12:39 pm

curious how this compares to a Beta 91. I have tried many a kick drum mics and have settled for the Beta 91 mostly these days, but the top end always feels a little plastic-y to me. anyone compared this Beyer offering?

wasn't blown away by the sound in their demo video but who knows - it was all multi mic'd - the drums sounded like I'd expect the particular kit in the video to sound so I guess it might work for capturing an accurate sound at least

plastic-y, at least my idea of that term, I associate with drum heads and tunings - It's definitely not that right?
