Network Backup Solutions for the studio?

Post by alexdingley » Sun Apr 21, 2019 7:18 am

Anyone have positive experiences with any particular brands / models of NAS drive enclosure? Would love to know about the following:
- Write Speed / Read speed
- Noise from fans, etc
- Heat generated (like... could it be thrown in a closet without worrying that it will overhead / die?)

My current local backup solution is a dedicated tower, acting as a backup server... but it's big / loud / takes a lot of power & is constantly running.

Also — anyone on a Mac have experiences with any 3rd party backup apps. I've NEVER had any issues with Time-Machine, but I'd be curious if folks are doing something different & having equal / better experiences.
