AML ez1073?
Anyone have experience with these? Would like to hear about them, if so. Kits are very affordable. From what I can tell, they seem legit.

Re: AML ez1073?
the kit looks like it would cost just under $700 with VAT and shipping
crazy good if it sounds like a 1073
looks like it doesn't have a DI and that's prob one of my fav things about that style of channel strip

I have owned one of these for several years now -- http://www.audiomaintenance.com/acatalo ... _info.html
it was not a kit, but pre-assembled. similar but not exactly like the kit. It's a really nice pre and I've used it on a lot of sources. the guys at AML (Colin I think?) were helpful too. I had 2 of them at one point, but traded one to a friend and i believe he also still uses it. It's one of the first 1073-like pres I bought and I remember the first time I heard the harmonics ("hair") around a vocal that was driven a bit through this preamp. perfect.
Looks like you can still get them direct, or Vintage King has them and even a couple on Reverb when I checked...

so look into that stuff
all said and done a CAPI kit with DI might be comparable in cost if you're into API vibe
my fav thing about the Neve style channels is definitely the EQ portion and DI
a used vintech dual 72 will be built already has a DI and much more fun gain controls and not much more $$ - it lacks that impedance switch but who cares
