Re: Favorite Hardware Reverb Unit
I've used a Bricasti and they're amazing, but I don't own one. Otherwise, I REALLY love the Klark Teknik DN-780. EMT plates are pretty fantastic (again, I don't own one, but I've used LOTS of them over the years). Sony DPS-R7s are also really cool and can be had super-cheap these days. Also really love my PCM-60, especially on snare. My Lexicon 200 (the big one from the late 70s/early 80s) is absolutely gorgeous, but every few years it breaks again and it costs about $500 to get fixed. Ugh...

Sorry, man. I deleted the double before I saw your clever joke.

Re: Favorite Hardware Reverb Unit
I had an m3000 which was so flexible and easy to use. It also had lots of other useful tools other than reverb. Mine crapped out shortly after I got it though. I was pretty disgusted. I liked it so much I almost bought another to replace it but couldn't bring myself to throw more money at something that had caused me so much grief. I took a chance on a unit I hadn't heard or used before-an old Barco Emt 248 from the nineties. No bells and whistles, and the routing is not as flexible as the m3000, but the reverbs are great. It really stays out of the way, which is one of the things I like about it. It's the only box I have. I've used boxes that are more useful and flexible, but none that sound any better.

Re: Favorite Hardware Reverb Unit
Lately I am enjoying the Roland 3030. It's kind of aggravating to use, as it's "intuitive interface" is not actually very intuitive.
It also loses the 100% wet setting whenever a power cycle it, which is every day. It gets too hot to leave on when not in use. I mean really really hot.
But it give a very good drum sound or whole mix reverb which neither sounds gritty or hyped. I like the wooden room with a short decay and push the liveness and distance a little.

Most Roland interfaces are AWFUL.Calaverasgrande wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 7:58 amLately I am enjoying the Roland 3030. It's kind of aggravating to use, as it's "intuitive interface" is not actually very intuitive.

Here's one from 2014 that got some good hardware replies..Calaverasgrande wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 8:33 amCould swear this was already a topic on here. But the only similar I can find is from over 15 years ago.

Re: Favorite Hardware Reverb Unit
Also the Eventide H9 is kicking my ass on everything lately.
It seems to be the only mid tier multieffects for sale new that isn't 20 years old?
Everything else is Bricasti Veyron or some Behringer nonsense.

At 3K and up per unit I'd hardly put a Bricasti in the same price category as Behringer. If anything it's more like the difference between buying a Bugatti Veyron and buying a Fiat Tipo.

Which models would you say are mid tier and how often do they pop up on Reverb or Ebay?

Re: Favorite Hardware Reverb Unit
TC Electronic stuff like the M1XL, M2000, M3000 I guess?
But that is all quite old now. Feels strange to me to buy any new digital thing with a design over 15 years old.
If I'm going on Ebay or Reverb for a, wait for it, reverb.
I'm probably looking for a Lexicon with a number instead of a name for the model. Like the 60, 80 or 90.
But I was referring more to the state of retail reverbs for sale now. I'm not opposed to vintage stuff. But the market is such that I'd rather pay a little more for something new and avoid refurbishment and maintenance headaches. At least for the length of the warranty at least.
