ASCAP or BMI and why?

Just curious for those ASCAP or BMI members. Which did you choose and what made you choose one over the other?

When I was considering this 25ish years ago, my father told me ASCAP was better for composers and BMI was better for songwriters, so I went with ASCAP. He was likely basing that off of some 1950s/60s ideas though. I don't know if it REALLY matters now.

ASCAP for the same reasons, and also because my business partner is. Either way, it works out because I’m collecting those big (sarcasm) royalties every quarter or whatever, mostly through Netflix and similar.

I think they have different fee structures but both are pretty affordable. I went with ASCAP because I thought the UI on their site was nice and simple.
