You don't actually get rid of stuff. You just talk about it

I finally sold my Roland Space Echo. I loved it to death but it didn’t pull its’ weight so it went out the door. In the end it was too much of a one-trick pony for me. The prices they get these days made it easier to let it go.

I put a few things on the local Craigslist. Attempting to make sales with social distancing and masks...

sold my Advanced Audio CM47 (only because I have other similar sounding mics now) and a few drum parts. still more to go though...

yeah i'm always selling stuff. i treat my "studio" (i use that term loosely) as a trial space for gear. i just buy stuff at lowball price, try it out, it stays or is sold for a small profit. makes it so i can try tons of gear i would never get to try shopping local, and i don't have to leave my house. i realize this isn't for everyone, but i've tried the gear of my dreams and never had to rent it, buy big studio time, or travel to NYC to try it at a dealer there. i've made a little money from it as well which i've *surprise surprise* re-invested in more gear.

said goodbye to a Shure 520DX. I bought it used, and intended to use it as a color mic. I did that a couple times, but didn't fall in love. just about broke even, so like it never even happened...

my "live rig", that I only used once or twice for that purpose... consisting of a Digi 002R, ADA-8000, and a power conditioner in a 4U rack, along with an older laptop that has firewire, is now shipping off to a buddy. Probably feeling the effects of quarantine, he decided it was time to learn Pro Tools (even if it's version 8) and home recording....

Sold my Chameleon Labs 7802 st. opto compressor. My set-up at home is minimal enough that I wasn't able to use the compressor as a stereo mix bus comp, and the dbx160XT I picked up recently serves me very well as a vocal comp, so off - finally - went the CL7802.

and since I had 2 Audix D6's and bought a Miktek PM11, I sold one of the D6's. I mostly use the Telefunken M82 anyway... pricey, but excellent mic.

Thinking (just thinking mind you) of unloading a 60's Kent sound-hole pick up (the middle class man's DeArmond) and my Sennheiser 602.
I just got a lovely late 70s DeArmond sound-hole humbucker and I never fell in love with the 602.

After selling my "live recording rig" which I used once over the last 7 years, and saw no immediate future for... I realized I had some mics that were supposed to be part of that live recording rig too. The first to go was a pair of MCA SP1's that I had intended to use as overheads/drum mics. I picked them up used at a Guitar Center and one of them had an "AudioUpgrades" sticker on it (Jim Williams). GC had no clue what that meant... I could see he had modded it but the other was stock. I changed a few caps on the unmodded mic but didn't go nuts. IN the end they sounded pretty similar to me. anyway, someone got a pretty good deal yesterday for the pair...
