Did you think I meant put the wang bar on “yer mom” bass?
No, no, no mon frere. That’s a whole different kettle of fish entirely.
See, I was just providing a visual aid for the link to a loop of a farty, burnt destroyed bass representing “yer mom” bass, and Charvel wang bar for the ..oh I see what you mean, nevermind.

I have two romplers, a Roland xp80 and a Casio thing. Oh, and a Korg m1. So three romplers.
What would you guys recommend for a good all purpose modern keyboard(s). There's all kind's of analog emulation stuff out now, and of course software out the wazoo. But for one solid all arounder hardware keyboard. Or is it a question of getting a couple or three that are really good at what they do?
What would be on your list of possibilities?

Whatever the latest Yamaha Motif family looks like. Scale it for # of keys & onboard sequencer. Seems to be what I see traveling acts with onstage most frequently.
Not sure how it overlaps with the Korg Kronos/Krome family.

I broke the bank these last couple months, but I do want to get something with weighted keys not too far down the road.
Even this hack pianist can see that when you get some resistance, the rhythym of playing is so much more present than it is with spongy keys.
(I seem to remember this same discussion a few months back with someone looking for this exact thing. will check that out as well.) UTFSF

If the need is more focused on piano emulation, look at stuff in the "stage piano" category.

look for a used nord stage, nord electro, or korg stage sv-1 or sv-2. you can always update the samples to the latest versions so the model doesn't matter. nord are the industry standard board.
