MD421's right now

Post by digitaldrummer » Thu Oct 01, 2020 1:19 pm

not sure what's up, but if you ever wanted a MD421 (or more of them - and technically MD421-II) they seem to be on sale for $199 right now almost everywhere. not bad considering they are usually $379 everywhere (new). I couldn't help pulling the trigger on one more myself.

Unsure if related, since you don't see this across their entire product line, but this probably isn't helping: https://www.prosoundnetwork.com/busines ... ing-market

I got 2 421’s, which is enough for me. A white one from who knows what era, and one from the 80’s so probably a II. I haven’t actually done a comparison, I usually use the white one.

That is likely a factor. also the fact that the live sound business is nearly at a complete standstill, and studio recording is pretty close to that other than home/private studios, although I know some commercial studios have slowly started to open in places.

I might bite, I've often wanted another toms option, but then again I keep thinking about Oktavas too. Hmmm.....

Oh, but they're back up to $380 again. Weird....

I hope they're not going to be discontinued.
