OK, I apologize, my ears were ringing and I misheard ...
The worst record for loudness I have heard lately was Metallica's last (the EP was a little better).
Of course that may be because I've mostly been listening to indie and jazz lately.
Altho' I'll add that one of my fave productions of recent years was Bowie's last.
