If I were making panels to cover the windows, I would make them larger than the window openings, so that they were 'mounted' on the wall and covering the entire opening. If using Velcro, I'd get the strip stuff and cover the whole perimeter of the covering so that A) it's more stable in its connection to the was and B) to make a more complete seal.coplinger wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 6:47 pmI was more thinking of using the mlv for windows. I've seen where people velcro it to the window frame. I think I'll just use a combination of drywall, plywood and fiberboard and a seal around the window. That will be much cheaper and removeable when I leave.
What do yall think about these for the doorway? I'm wondering how effective they would be with the opportunity for air gaps. I guess I could use velcro to minimize that.

I did something similar (to the link you posted) using regular moving blankets. A LOT cheaper and probably just as effective. It's not going to stop a lot of sound, but its better than nothing. I have one door that is not as heavy as I would like, and hanging the blankets does help block out (or keep in) some noise.

Have you done any tests at all as the space is now?
Had somebody play some drums back there after hours?
A guitar amp?
Some listening from various areas outside and up front might be helpful to see what you can get away with.
That could point you on what you might need to do and what part of it would be most important.
