wow, that is a weirdo jack that I've never seen anyone else use!

Indeed!

With Mouser being in Texas (and me not realizing that), the snow storm they had a couple of weeks ago slowed my shipment down, but I got the weirdo TRS jacks, finally. I went ahead and swapped out both (there was a lot of play in the old ones, even before I snapped the bushing off of one) — the new ones are soldered-in / the replacement nylon stand-off posts are in place, holding the I/O board firmly, and now the amp is back in service! Thanks all, for the help on this weird little quest.
