Never once in the 10+ years I've owned it.

The flat setting is fine. Definitely gets a nice little boost on top if you pull the foam off and switch it to the trebley setting- usually requires a standard pop filter then.

A more scientific engineer would compare mic set flat plus eq to mic in treble boost with no eq and see if one is a winner. I haven't tried it.

That's what is weird.... I used to almost always add a little 10k shelf or something like that to offset the inherent darkness a bit, but now I want to cut the top a lot.

I should probably just send it in.

before you do I'd check and maybe exercise those switches just to make sure one didn't go bad?

That's a smart idea. I suppose never moving them in a decade maybe isn't great. I wonder if it's been tricked into thinking that presence switch is up.

Btw, one thing I noticed over the years is if the singer is a screamin' rocker, then a 57 or 58 is great because you put it right to your lips and not worry about maintaining a certain mic distance or having to use a pop screen, etc.
