Cheap Sleeper Fuzz Pedals for Guitar
I love a good cheap pedal that is a sleeper. I have this 90's Vox Tone Bender that's a ripper and people bash it online all day long. I've got a Sears Fuzz Face from the 70's that is a germ FF but cheap, no 800 dollars here. love this stuff. i'm looking for some other nasty fuzzes, more 60's spitty type sounds. like the one below

have you tried a Rat? I have one of the original's from the 80's and it can certainly fuzz out.

I've got the Twinote Pie from this video. It's a muff sort of thing. Super cheap.
I also just ordered the yellow Azor in the video. $27 USD on amazon. It way more 60's sounding.

On the extreme fuzz side, the Way Huge Swollen Pickle is always a ton of fun. Nice shaping controls.
I find them used for $60-80.

Idiot Box Ron Swanson Fuzz is a superfuzz variant. I love mine. It does the Jesus and Mary Chain thing if you're into that, but the "normal" setting is a massive and thick sound that will give you some octave up shit when you play higher and on your neck pickup. His pedals are all super affordable.

great stuff i will check these out.

Also cutting the voltage on some pedals is a cheap way to change the sound.
Re: Cheap Sleeper Fuzz Pedals for Guitar
For a while I was enjoying Devi Ever pedals. From what I recall (it’s broken now) the Torn’s Peaker was pretty great. Not super cheap though. I have a Way Huge pickle that does muff-ish, and can get pretty dark and far away from the ripped Velcro sound, which I appreciate sometimes.
It’s not cheap, but my favorite is the Walrus Audio Janus that does fuzz and tremolo, and has two joysticks you can nudge with your toe. Huge variety of fuzz tones from that thing.
Oh, and on a whim I picked up a Catalinbred Antichthon pretty cheap used. It’s a fuzz, but a perplexing beast. It does tremolo ish wobble when you turn guitar volume down, then transitions into fuzz as you bring the volume up. It also does weird noises and pterodactyl calls using another control. Good weird fun, but not easy to use. It was probably kinda cheap because it’s such a pain in the ass to use.

Had one from eighties I used instead of an amp for recording guitar and bass. Gave it away long ago and forget the name ..Metal something.
Re: Cheap Sleeper Fuzz Pedals for Guitar
My most recents, price I paid in parentheses:
Tone City FUXX Fuzz Guitar (US$40~)- nice pedal, heavy fuzz, versatile, loud, reminds me some of a Fuzz Face or Super Fuzz without the upper octave.. Just don't buy from mec.2009.
JHS Fuzz ($US70~): one of the new "generic-look" 3 Series what is all white. Again, cool pedal, better than the above for me as I always appreciate a "bias" knob, goes from like-Muff to like-Zvex.
Fulltone Octafuzz (US$100~): this is the original series what has a reverse 9 volt, doesn't chain well off a One--Spot but sounds cool, uniquely dynamic.
Movall Ocopuzz ($US30~): just as cool as the Fulltone (not as much bottom), smaller, cheaper, standard 9v. plug.
Catalinbread Fuzz Engine (US$70~): crazy-wild, and touchy but tweakable
MXR M296 ($US60~): a classic sorta medium-ish fuzz
Mooer Triangle Fuzz (US$35~): indistinguishable from the nano EHX Triangle Muff - what is great!
Also note that there are a number of <US$50 Rat clones by Chinese companies such as the Super Rat and the Black Rat, etc. Every one I've played (3?) sounds really good; some even have the LM308 altho' that is not necessary for a good sound.
Also, the Behringer SF300 gets a lot of love under US$50 - I've not tried it.

Re: Cheap Sleeper Fuzz Pedals for Guitar
This was going to be my suggestion. It's a clone of the Boss HyperFuzz, which itself is switchable between two different transistor-based fuzzes AND a good clean boost mode. I've used both the Boss original and the Behringer, and there's no meaningful difference between the two except that the Boss is hard to find and getting kind of pricey. Course, I tried to find a new one of the Behringers and couldn't find it in stock any of the usual places just the other day. I'm not a huge fuzz aficionado, and actually use it for the clean boost mostly, but all of the modes are very usable and pretty versatile with more tone shaping options than many other fuzzes.

Jeesh, that's cheaper than a Waves plugin. ordered one...
Re: Cheap Sleeper Fuzz Pedals for Guitar
I confess I just ordered one for like US$40 on the Ebog and ya know what?
I'm fine with that.
