Nice to see but wish it was more long term than a gimmicky anniversary run.

Oooo, they've even got the mini take up reels.

Re: Tascam reintroducing high bias cassettes
These are certainly cool, but there's a very limited amount of oxide available, so I'd be surprised if they went into larger-scale production of these cassettes. With that said, I'd be glad to be mistaken!

If they're making the effort to manufacture these tapes they're doing a sniff and search to test the market.shedshrine wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 10:49 amOooo, they've even got the mini take up reels.

If these fly out the door who knows what's next...
Re: Tascam reintroducing high bias cassettes
Not really Tascam reintroducing them but putting their name in a National Audio product. Which, if we’re being honest, is probably better for long term production possibilities.

I cannot wait for Seagate to reintroduce SCSI hard drives, in 1GB, 2GB, 5GB, and a whopping 10GB sizes. RAD!
Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

Glad to see it. National Audio sells cassettes, and ATR did a run, though they’re out of type II now.
I still do some 4-track recording, so I guess I’ll probably get a box of the Tascam, for the silly mini-reels if nothing else.

Hope to purchase and take for a spin on a 238.

I hope nobody is expecting these to be reasonably priced.
