Can you recommend a tiny USB mixer?

Post by Snarl 12/8 » Tue Oct 25, 2022 4:13 pm

Hi,

I'm googling, but not finding the perfect thing. All I need is one line level stereo channel and one mic preamp, with stereo line outs and a USB output that can be used simultaneously. It's for someone who is singing while playing a keyboard who wants to record themself. Anyone know of a tiny, great sounding mixer that's as close to that as possible? I feel like there should be at least one piece of gear designed specifically for this purpose.

Thanks,

ck

EDIT: After googling more, I guess I'm just asking if the Soundcraft Notepads are any good? Or, what would you buy in that zone?

All that stuff is fine, no kidding. Yamaha makes some little ones with various capabilities, the Soundcraft ones will be good too.

I've got one of the little Soundcrafts that's a size up from what you're describing, and it's fine. Nothing amazing, just very useful for what it is.

Take a look at the SSL 2 and the SSL 2+. I have no affiliation, I paid for mine and I use it often.

I have the 2+, which adds another headphone amp and MIDI connections plus another set of outputs.
Either of them will do what you need and they do sound great.
Here's a review. https://www.musicradar.com/reviews/ssl-2-and-2
