I did some tracking this weekend out of a studio I've not used before, Crackle and Pop, in Seattle, WA. I used their Spectra Sonics console that was built for STAX Records in 1969 as the front end for most of the mics. The EQ was real nice! Since it was my first time working out of that control room, I was a little conservative with the EQ than I wanted to be, just to be on the safe side. But the few boosts in 50hz, 5 k, and 10k that is did do was some nice stuff. Also used Radar converters for the first time, and between the console and the Radar converters, I haven't had sounds like I got since I stopped tracking to tape, which took me a second to get my head wrapped around, but once I did, very happy and confident in what we recorded.
