The one mic drum sound seems to work there.

Much appreciation!

I've made some one mic recordings for some drummers I worked with. I also had one drummer go to a place on his own and get a one mic recording of his playing.
This one guy was a very good player but he hit every drum and cymbal with the same force.
The one mic recording was the eye opener I hoped for when he heard his playing come back.
Got the guy thinking about his own dynamics around the kit.
Really helped me out when working with him in the long run.

Sounds good! It doesn't not sound like 1-mic but anything that makes us rethink things is worth its weigh in gold. It doesn't sound lo-fi or dirty, which is no easy trick with one mic.AND — the drummer says it's all good if you wanna listen. Here's an mp3

Thanks! Yeah, it’s not like a Steely Dan recording or anything… but very very usable.logancircle wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 8:41 amSounds good! The drummer recently bought himself an AEA R88 & their accompanying mic pre, so maybe we’ll combine the two and see if that’s “all we need” for one of his future tracks.
