I guess the subject line says it all.
I'm finding it clumsy to start/stop the RC500 when recording the initial loop when I'm drumming. I would love to just have a pad or block style trigger that started and stopped it. Is this possible? I think you can control it with midi, but what's the cheapest/easiest way to get a midi signal out of a drum trigger? I've never owned a drum trigger or pad before, so I have no clue what's out there and google didn't really get me anywhere.
Thanks,
ck
Does anyone know how to start/stop a Boss RC500 with a drum trigger?

Drum triggers are MIDI,however, they need the "brain" to convert the voltage signal into a MIDI signal.
Does the manual state that you can assign the record / playback to a MIDI command?\
From their specs,it seems you can initiate recording by having the RC500 "listen" to incoming signal.

Howling at the neighbors. Hoping they have more mic cables.

you could possibly use something like this to trigger it? I've never tried it so can't say for sure, but in theory as long as you can set, or know the MIDI channels in use they should be able to communicate.

But the RC500 appears to have mini-TRS (which I think are 1/8" jacks?) and requires a cable adapter "sold separately" to connect to a typical 5-pin DIN MIDI cable (which is what the KAT uses).
if you could find the parts in stock at a local guitar center, at least you could take it back if it did not work (I mean, that's why they exist right?).
