Profile Equipment. Need Captures And Will Share The Results.

Post by punkrockdude » Sun Jul 16, 2023 2:39 am

I am profiling different analog equipment using neural network that everyone will have easy access to. What I do not have though is a lot of the sought after compressors, limiters, transformers and equalizers.

Do you have an 1176, LA-2A, Distressor, Fatso, Pultec etc and would like to capture the outputs of these? Reverb and time-based effects like chorus, flanger, phaser does not work well at the moment. I would love some great character compression, transformer or tape saturation, "magic" equalization, etc. It is alright to model them extreme since it will be possible to adjust the input and less effect if desired.

What you need to do if you would like to contribute is to:
  • Download the reference file and put it through your gear
  • Record at at least 48000Hz, 24bit, mono. Higher sample rates are OK though.
  • Send me or upload the recorded/captured file to a file sharing site like https://www.file.io/. Post the link in a reply to this thread, please.
  • Please include a simple text file with information like what the settings were, please. You can then zip the two files so that you only have to upload one.
I will then model them and upload them here so that we all can use them. My tests with an RNLA has been impressive.
