Re: Reco me some loud cans
ZBT's will destroy anything. no headphone or gobo will ever help.
Re: Reco me some loud cans
CraigS63: yeah, except we prefer the stick sound, and he prefers to play with 'em
digitaldrummer: say what?
EDIT: ah, the cymbals, he just bought the kit (used) said sompin' about replacing 'em ... I think they sound good, and I think the prob is more the kick and snare
here's that last thing we published of that kit:

Re: Reco me some loud cans
If comfort is taking precedent?
Probably have to accept that comfort will probably come at the cost of actually solving the problem that you are describing.
There's actual fixes. Just not fixes that come along with comfort. Well, none that I have come across.
Lots of folks speak highly of the 3M Pletor X5 earmuffs when if comes to them being comfortable for what they are. In this specific instance, it really could be worth trying a set of earbuds inside of the earmuffs just to see if it was a worthwhile alternative.
Re: Reco me some loud cans
Yeah, I have construction muffs that work well over good ear buds, still not too comfy, after a cuppla hours and beers.
But over and above that, my thought was to provide the same stuff for all for band members - I just don't wanna spend US$1.2K on that (4 x US$300.00).
But as it happens, the others wanna keep their own cans, so I'm hopeful that the new cans amp and changing some other incremental stuff (monitor mix, EQ, some placements) will help.
This is strictly from casual - my living room for bi-monthly jams that I may or may not derive demo-type recordings from.
All for fun, no record deal attempts or even gig-chasing involved.
