A little late to the game
This is my hit making Ludwig Acrolite fully dressed for battle.
Bottom mic phased reversed

Good idea with that clamp for the bottom mic. Floor real estate is valuable once the stands start piling up!
Oh hell yeah!

Ah, the bottom of the snare,
Nothing good comes from there,
It squeaks, it buzzes,
It hums and chatters
And we're just gonna use a sample in the mix
"What fer?"
"Cat fur, to make kitten britches."

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I might get another multi clamp and do the same. There probably isn't a vibration issue, because bottom snare is usually hi passed anyway.

That dead-on, perpendicular mic placement on bottom snare is interesting. I've never placed the mic that way. I want to try it now.

I like discussing mic technique as much as the next guy or gal, But to my mind, it's really about living through the fall of civilization. Am I alone over here?
And yes, mic the bottom of the snare,
Are we not men? We are bot snr mic men.

I once hadda dream about an internal snare mic.

I guess I went to bed with a pretty good ...

... wait for it ...

... buzz.

But even if such a thing existed, we would be debating whether to point it more up or down, or utilizing a stereo capsule.

Just flip the snare over, and you have everything covered! Easy peasy.
