I just learned that Clarence Kane of ENAK Mic repair died this week.
He was a really nice man with an incredible depth of knowledge as the last surviving RCA microphone employee. Tape Op did an interview with him in 2016 https://tapeop.com/interviews/116/clare ... wWssFpEI0a and his protege Luke Carpenter made a short documentary on him that can be viewed here.

One of my favorite pandemic scores was an RCA 77 that needed a little love. I talked with Mr Kane on the phone and he did a great job on the microphone for me at a sort of crazy affordable rate.
Luke will be continuing with the ENAK Mic service renamed as Pittman https://www.pitmanmic.com
RIP Clarence Kane

Re: RIP Charles Kane
This is sad news. I'm so glad he had someone to pass all that knowledge along, who wants to continue the legacy.

Sad indeed. Grateful to have had Clarence work on a few of my mics over the years. I've got it on good authority that Clarence sold his remaining parts and equipment to Cole Picks Vintage in Nashville, and recommended them over Pitman for future mic repairs. RIP.
