Have you tried to contact Amek?
I have a TAC console that i like very much.
It was built -86 and still works as a dream.
I have replaced all the faders once,(Alps faders).
I have used this console to record over 150 band/artists since -96,so it has paid for itself many times.

i have a tac scorpion from 1985. manual and everything if it's the same kind that you are looking for. i know that amek has recently sold off all of the spare channel strips they had for my console and so i don't know if they still have record of the manuals. if amek turns up to be a dead end feel free to contact me.

thread back from the dead here...

I have a chance at a TAC scorpion 16x8x2 for about $1000. Good price?

I'm hoping some people here have had more experience with this console since last October.

Thx........

I've never been all that crazy about those TAC consoles. I think they sound sort of harsh and I know of SEVERAL in severe disrepair. Mark Maxwell at Maxwell Sound in Athens, Georgia used to have a 24-in version. I'm not sure how to get hold of Mark aside from directory assitance or something, but he's a nice enough guy. You might try contacting him and see if he has any paperwork.

If it's in good condition, should be good deal at that price. Many people do like them. I've liked the few that I've had the chance to use.
