Inverse, if like 7 more people buy your song you'll never have to worry about health care costs again. Godspeed!

Stop, you're killing me! Oh no wait--it's Mutual of Omaha that's killing me. Right after I posted that whining complaint about them, I got a letter in the mail saying that our premium has gone up 600 bucks a year--and I still can't go to the doctor when I'm sick!
You guys are awesome, thanks a lot...

Re: I sold a song on iTunes!!!
We've been selling Third Monk product on iTunes for a while too as well as Rhapsody and many others. The accounting is finally coming down on a steady quarterly basis. Our distributor supplies music to over 30 mp3 selling platforms worldwide. Pretty cool. This is going to pick-up and with higher data transfer rates on the internet, we'll move past mp3 pretty quickly. Digital distribution is definitel the future!

If you go through CDBaby, you get a very large percentage of the asking price of the song, plus they sign you up for a ton of online music sources--Music Match, iTunes, Rhapsody, MusicNet, Napster, Weed, BuyMusic, EMEPE3, Etherstream, Music4Cents, Lindows, QTRnote, NetMusic, Viztas, LoudEye, and MSN Music. They sent my stuff to all those places.jp wrote:somebody fill me in on how to get your music to i-tunes, napster ect... whats the royalty?
There are surcharges for CDBaby--I think it's 35 bucks a disc, plus more for setup and bar codes--but like I said earlier, it seems well worth it to me.

Is there any quality control on these sites or is it just a big free for all?

Re: I sold a song on iTunes!!!
Did you read/did you have any thoughts on the digital distribution rights agreement? I did a quick google search to tell some buddies of mine about the CdBaby -> iTunes connection, but I found some article saying that iTunes's claims to your digital distribution were unfair (I think mainly in terms of duration). I don't know if iTunes changed their policy since that article was published, though. Any thoughts?
