isolation of guitar amp question.
ok. i know that alot of people prefer to put the guitar amp in a closet or isolate it somehow, and i know why. however, how does one work with wanted feeldback from said amp? is there some kooky trick im missing aside form the obvious? ie. recording a feedback track or having the guitar player in the same room?
Re: isolation of guitar amp question.
I don't think theres any trick to it, the player needs to stand in front of the amp. You just have to find a place where there is room for both and blast away.

if you split the guitar signal to another tiny amp, you can get the guitar to
feedback at much lower levels. the feedback tone coming out of the isolated
amp might be a bit too thin for your tastes. this is only viable if the tiny amp
doesn't interfere with your recording situation.

Re: isolation of guitar amp question.
I have done "feedback" tracks and they always sound fake. They're just going to have to do it for real to make it sound right.
I did have a producer crank up his big monitors to get my guitar to feedback in the control room. It was close but still not the real thing
I also had put a rig in a closet and just left the door open slightly, and when the part to feedback came up I had him run over and stand in front of the closet door for that part. I still got the cab isolated enough to hear the drums in the control room
