Any good Reamp imitators out there?
Any good Reamp imitators out there?
Love the concept, would rather not pay $225. Are there any other reputable boxes out there that do the job well?

Check out Little Labs products or build your own based on schematics that are on the Jensen Transformers website. The only thing Re Amp did was market and register a process that's been done for decades.

Yeah, it doesn't take $225 (or even $100) worth of electronics to go balanced-to-unbalanced, attenuate several tens of dB and build out the output impedance, that's for sure. A transformer, a couple of resistors and a pot could do the trick. I don't know what other signal-conditioning circuitry, if any, is in the ReAmp; but the basic function is achieved easily and inexpensively enough. If I could find a free, hotlinkable image hosting site, I'd put up a schematic.

Somebody got some space they could host this schematic for Dave?NewYorkDave wrote:If I could find a free, hotlinkable image hosting site, I'd put up a schematic.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'm looking to send an already recorded (via tube direct box) bass signal from my Digi 002 rack to a bass amp---

maybe i'm missing something with the re-amp thing. I have always just taken the channel out of the 24 track and stuck it through an amp and mic'd it...never had to go through anything else....

Qatarwhore-
The levels coming out of a piece of gear (at "line" level) is much hotter than that which comes out of a guitar or bass etc. The re amp makes the level coming out of the gear similar to what comes from a guitar-

I did just see on another forum that if you do a patent search on Reamp, you should be able to find their schematic.

i'm in the same boat. when i hear reamp, i think of the process, not the product.guitarwhore wrote:maybe i'm missing something with the re-amp thing. I have always just taken the channel out of the 24 track and stuck it through an amp and mic'd it...never had to go through anything else....

Actually, it was a forum I technically moderate (kind of like how I'm technically an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church), so I'm a bit uneasy about plugging it, but your link will do.rhythm ranch wrote:That was this forum, here's the thread:Bear's Gone Fission wrote:I did just see on another forum that if you do a patent search on Reamp, you should be able to find their schematic.
