Anything is affordable depending on your outlook. I prefer to make music with stuff made by people who give a shit enough to do a good job designing and building it. If the Behringer mics are every bit as cool as the Avensons, it doesn't matter to me because Brad and Erik will always get my money before those fuckers at Behringer. Any time you spend money on equipment, you're making a choice. There's no "all I can afford" argument there because you make the choices to acquire whatever you own. I'm suprised more people aren't going gaga over Radio Shack's "affordable" selection of recording equipment or the $10 Audio Technica mics that MCM Electronics sells.

I suspect these aren't copies of Boss designs, but just parted-out portions of Behringer's DSP engine stuck into Boss- and EHX-like boxes. Time will tell...

You would figure something like this would be the case, There have been other companies to make petals like "Metal Tones" that look and operate similar to a "Metal Zone" Boss pedal, but the fact that Behringer used to use Mackie's PC board layout in their ?berMixers makes me think they just copied the PCB and use cheaper components.

[/quote]Personally, I can't wait for Behringer cymbals.

You think they'll actually start with metal, or go right to plastic?

yeah, didn't behringer get in trouble for copying mackie a few years back? Are they just stupid? I concur with all the bitching because copycats are so irritating. I suppose it is the most sincere form of flattery, but MY GOD! How many lawsuits do they need?

this is really funny...

the entire capitalistic world is all about crap like this!

how many of you guys are using neve, api, la2a, tele, strat, jazz bass, p-bass, les paul copies, and/or a host of other "similar" or "inspired" gear?

and how about clothes?

and how about shoes?

and how about soda?

and so on and so on and so on and so on...

if you didn't care, they wouldn't either, boring...

I actually like it when cheap companies make more cheap copies because it makes the more expensive stuff that much better :D

Boss most likely cant do nething. I dont think its unlawful to copy a sound or appearance of a product even for that effect of 'you copied us'. plus, boss copies Ibanez with their first pedals..

It'll be called the "Stresser" and it will have an "A-bomb" setting.

Actually it would be hilarious if that pedal were called the "Plastic Tone."

Why are there no weird or interesting pedals there? Oh boy another 500 shitty distortion pedals, I want a XXX Sooper Doooper Pitch Shifting Wang Delay Verb XB1 with pipe cleaner-flower accessories, you know?

Like that rad but cheap arion delay, that thing is inexplicable.
