Well Al, I'm happy to say that I don't know because I've never wanted to own one.
Very well played posting though.

Thing is, racism isn't just personal. It's also structural.
i just realized that ONE of the reasons that it's hard to discuss racism is because the people involved may not be talking about the same ASPECT of it. (i.e. personal vs. structural) which is a difficult thing to separate internally anyway... good point JES, a little light bulb popped on over here...

way to stick to the argument, heylow, i think you rock too..

now,

may i have a dancing banana?

"Posse in the studio" overtly morphs into "I hate rap music and everything it stands for" subtley morphs into "I hate those n...... and there music" morphs into "lets go get drunk". I had to stop there just to say ,youre a bunch of racist bastards.

if you have a problem with a potential client leave it at that . Done. As far as i'm concerned it doesnt matter what kind of music you are doing a hip ass-hole is no better or worse than a ass-hole that rocks.

BTW, Believe it or not a well placed, "Shut the hell up!" can gain you alot of respect with these cats.

Hola Haters. (don't be scured)

P.S.
I agree kids are worse than any posse i've ever had to deal with.

I don't do alot of recoding gigs. Only mobile stuff in clients own spaces from time to time, and I still reqire having something that I can hear before I take on the project. My rates are based on how I feel about what's being done. Hearing a groups music is usually enough to tell a few things about them.

I'll say this for guns though: How else was Phil Spector gonna get those sessions out of the ramones?

Incredible. Someone finds a thread that has been inactive for almost a YEAR, and registers long enough to fire off his first ever post, with horrible spelling and grammar, just to call us all racist bastards.

High-larious.

At least he had to go pretty far back into the archives to find something that offended him. It must have taken awhile. "Damn it... I'll find something to offend me in here somewhere..."

That's some mighty fine trolling there K. Let's just let this one die.

The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

Sometimes it's best just to shoot one of the extra dudes right at the beginning of the session and then they know you mean business. It helps to get a deposit first though

As far as I'm concerned, recording sessions should be closed. If you are not performing that day, or not a performer in the band, you should not be in attendance. Plain and simple. Take the business elsewhere.
