I actually think that thing is amazing. It is partially advertised as a cure for bad tuning, true - but the potential to be able to switch instantly on stage between many tunings is very cool. You could even set it up with a footswitch to retune a string in the middle of a song, while you mute it and play other strings. Its only problems are that it costs 3000 dollars, and is only installed on electrics.

Lameass. You can get a Roland VG-8 setup for far less, and you don't have to hakc your axe to pieces to make it work. Three grand? For three grand just buy a FEW new guitars.

it's 3 grand now, but when the technology gets a little more down to earth it'll probably be really useful

think 10 years from now..

those roland things are lame anyway. a rediculous amount of fun, but lame.

In my experience with the VG8, it sounds like shit when it attempts to do alternate tunings. Perhaps I've set it up wrong, although I have the same problem with other digital retuners.
