I think that for 20 bucks, it's a gamble most folks can afford. 8)

In the words of my Stereo Recording prof, there is no such thing as a "bad" microphone, just the wrong application for a given mic. I'm sure you can find something to do with them.

The good thing is that they have "warm bottom end warmth". Can't go wrong with any of that.

For the price, I think they would at least make okay tom mic's for live stuff.

There is a limit to this wisdom, unless you've been searching for just the right hiss-and-sizzle tone.

Yeah, I got two of those Nady mics free with the purchase of a cheap mic cable.

They weren't the greatest mics in the world. I ended up including them with an 8track that I sold on ebay.

Or maybe I can go with my fallback reasoning: "I've spent $20 on stupider shit."

I got five of those with a pa I bought. I keep them in the drawer with all my other mics. A lot of people look at them and say, "Damn, you got a lot of mics" That is all they are worth to me.

I had two I got through two different package deals through musicians friend. One I gave to my friend and the other I kept. It all depends on what you want from them. I use it whenever I want a cool distorted buzz sound. They do that very well and easily (distort). I have used it between a hihat and snare and gotten cool results that Ive used and if you take off the windscreen (it just unscrews) and slam it right up on the grill of a cab you can get pretty cool and in my mind, useable guitar tones. Also sound interesting on trumpet and melodica from a distance. But nothing that any other cheap-o mic cant get it you. If you cant afford it now ($20 can put you in a bind sometimes), they have that deal about every 3 months or so it seems.

I got the Yamaha EMX66M. I like it, it is a very loud PA. It actually came with SP-9's now that I look at them. The sp-5's are a little more expensive. Don't know how they fair. I know my SP-5's won't be used for anything but for show, unless I am going for a really dull sound. Is the RNA a really nice amplifier, I am considering buying the RNP soon, either that or breaking the bank on an API pre.

are these the "star power" mics? my friend really likes the star powers in a "trashy overhead" and "weird vocal" capacity. haven't tried em myself, but last time i checked, they were $10.

Well, if we're artists, maybe we're supposed to be able to do something interesting with a piece of plywood.

(If I needed them and couldn't afford better they'd be great. Otherwise, I'd always be aware of those cheap-ass mics I have laying around. Why did I buy those, anyway?)
